Dr. Yusra Ahmed

Dr. Yusra Ahmad is a Toronto-based psychiatrist with extensive experience in psychotherapy, community mental health, and teaching. She earned her BA from the University of Chicago and her MD and psychiatry residency from the University of Toronto, where she is now a lecturer. Her career spans work in diverse health organizations, private practice, and innovative therapy programs, reflecting her dedication to breaking down barriers in mental healthcare. In addition to clinical work, she has contributed as a film consultant, key informant for community-based interventions, and has been featured in major media outlets internationally. Her leadership and advocacy in psychiatry were recognized with the 2019 Breakout Community Psychiatry Advocacy Award from the Ontario Psychiatric Association.

Vaden is also the founder of several NGOs, a testament to his dedication to humanitarian work, as well as a public speaker leveraging his dynamic style to combine rigorous academic analysis with practical strategies.

Liben Gebremikael

Liben has been leading as the first executive director of TAIBU Community Health Centre, an agency committed to addressing the impact of anti-Black racism on the health and well-being of Black communities, for the past 16 years. Liben Gebremikael has over 30 years of experience in primary healthcare, social services, mental health, and community capacity building and development. Liben continues to channel his philanthropy and leadership toward creating impact.

Firaaz Azeez is widely acknowledged as an agent of change, a community builder, and an inspiring leader deeply committed to community service, partnership building, and philanthropy. For over two decades, Firaaz has actively engaged with various non-profit organizations, serving in various capacities such as volunteer, staff, board member, and director.

Appointed as the first Executive Director at Humaniti in December 2020, Firaaz provides strategic leadership and operational guidance to a growing team dedicated to enabling global giving and social impact.
